Welcome to the Welsh Department

 

Bydd yr holl ddisgyblion yn yr ysgol yn cael cyfle i ddatblygu ymagwedd gadarnhaol tuag at ddysgu’r iaith Gymraeg a gwerthfawrogiad o’r diwylliant Cymraeg, gan ddangos ymwybyddiaeth o rôl Cymru mewn cyd-destun Ewropeaidd a byd eang.

 

Amcanion yr Adran

 

• Darparu cyrsiau sy’n cynnig y cyfle i’r holl ddisgyblion lwyddo hyd eithaf eu potensial beth bynnag fo eu gallu, eu rhyw a’u cefndir.

• Creu amgylchedd ddysgu sy’n cyflyru, sy’n rhoi mwynhad ac sy’n gynhyrchiol.

• Sicrhau bod y fethodoleg yn adlewyrchu arddulliau dysgu yr holl ddisgyblion.

 

All pupils at STP will have an opportunity to develop a positive attitude towards the learning of the Welsh language, and an appreciation of Welsh culture, whilst also becoming aware of Wales’ role in a wider European and world-wide context.

 

Departmental Aims

 

• To provide courses which offer the opportunity for all pupils, regardless of ability, gender, or background to succeed to their maximum potential.

• To create a learning environment which is stimulating, enjoyable and productive.

• To ensure that methodology reflects the learning styles of all our pupils.

 

Cyfnod Allweddol 3 Key Stage 3 Astudier amrywiaeth o themau, o ‘Fy Hunan’ a ‘Fy Nheulu’ i edrych ar sut i Fyw’n Iach’ a gofalu am yr ‘Amglchedd’.

 

A variety of themes are studied at Key Stage 3, from ‘Myself’ and ‘My Family’ to looking at ‘Healthy Living’ and how to care for the ‘Environment.’

GCSE, AS and A2

 

Dilynir cyrsiau CBAC, a fel Adran rydyn ni’n gwneud ein gorau glas i sicrhau llwyddiant i’n disgyblion.

 

WJEC courses are followed, and as a Department we work hard to ensure success for our pupils.

 

Gweithgareddau Allgyrsiol Extra-Curricular Activities Gweithgareddau’r Urdd, Eisteddfodau, Clwb Cymraeg, ymweliadau theatr, ymweliadau preswyl i Wersyll yr Urdd Langrannog …….

 

Urdd activities, Eisteddfodau, Welsh Club, theatre visits, residential visits to Llangrannnog ……..

 

Cynnigir amrywiaeth o weithgareddau allgyrsiol. Gobeithir bod rhywbeth at ddant pawb.

 

A variety of extra-curricular activities are offered.
