STP MFL Department - General Aims

The promotion of MFL is paramount and as a team we work together to create opportunities for all our pupils and teachers to thrive. Our team of 3 staff enable pupils:

    • To enjoy studying the language and the culture of the MFL though the key skills-oracy, reading and writing.
    • To develop their own learning styles within the Skills Framework
    • To reach full potential and feel confident
    • To take responsibility for their own learning
    • To become aware of the progress they are making and respond to advice
    • To develop independent research within MFL EG: use of IT internet sites.
    • To take part in extra-curricular activities which include a European Day of Languages, a German Exchange as part of a town twinning and a French visit combined with History Dept. Pupils also take part in a costumed Open Evening for Year 6 and run a French CafĂ© and German Ski Hutte.
