- Never give out any personal information which could be used to contact
you.
- There’s no need to add a profile picture-your friends will know who you
are.
- If you do have problems, use the “Report Abuse” button.

- Always choose a strong password. Include letters of mixed cases, numbers
and symbols. 13 characters minimum is recommended.
- Always keep your password secret, and do not choose anything obvious
(e.g. pet names etc.)
- Check your privacy settings. Make sure only your friends can see your
full profile.

- Facebook changed their privacy settings system roughly a month ago.
Remember to check that your privacy settings are as they should be-as
they may have been reset.

- A basic rule:
- Don’t post anything online that you wouldn’t like your parents to see.
- When a picture is on the internet, it is there forever - even if you
“delete” it.

- If you are being bullied online, there is help available.
- If you receive an abusive message, do not reply to it, but save it as it
may be required for evidence.
- Use the report abuse button, and help will soon be on its way.

- If someone adds you who you do not know, don’t accept them, but block
them.
- It’s not a good idea to include a lot of information about yourself e.g.
school name, hobbies, birthday.
- Use a nickname, not your real name.
